Answers from Dr. Kaiser Question: I have multiple sclerosis (MS). Although I am on my own natural therapy and doing very well, I have not fully recovered from an attack that left me “paralyzed”. What do you recommend to help me recover both muscle mass and nerve conduction? Would anabolic steroid therapy help? Thank you.Dr. Kaiser replies: Multiple Sclerosis is a condition in which the body’s own immune system begins attacking the nerves. Specifically, the myelin sheath around the nerves is destroyed and the nerves can no longer conduct signals from the legs, arms, bladder, eyes, or other various parts of the body. This condition is also associated with significant fatigue as well as the occasional presence of headaches and muscle aches. My approach to treating MS, as well as other autoimmune diseases is a comprehensive one. First I ask, “What stresses may have been present during the past few years that may have participated in driving the body so out of balance that it misguidedly begins attacking itself?” The answers to this question can begin to shed light on some of the behavioral and lifestyle changes that may be necessary to reverse the circumstances that have begun to push the body so out of balance. Next I look at how I can best nutritionally support the immune and nervous systems. I always begin with my Immune Support ProgramTM to provide a nutritional foundation that is strong and contains a significant amount of energy-producing, and detoxifying antioxidants. I then use diet, anabolic hormones, and gentle exercise to help your body begin building back your its strength. Thyroid, DHEA, testosterone, and growth hormone are all tested for optimal levels by a blood test and naturally supplemented if necessary. Finally, hidden, but potentially active infections, such as intestinal parasites or herpes are looked for and aggressively treated to remove any potential cofactors that might be irritating the immune system and causing it to misguidedly attack your own body. I have been very successful in treating MS with the above program. I
wish you much good luck on your journey. Thank you for your excellent
